Biodex Isokinetic Testing


Biodex Isokinetic Testing is most commonly used to assess the quadricpep-to-hamstring strength ratio of knees following ACL reconstruction to help establish a patient’s readiness to return to sport specific activities, such as running, cutting, or jumping. This is not however its only function, the equipment can be used to assess the strength ratio across most any joint in the body. Very simply, it measures the torque of opposing muscle forces about a joint at  different speeds of movement. It is thought that this data can be used to help determine injury risk in the presence of abnormalities
