Jennifer Nichwander, PT

Jennifer Nichwander, PT, MPT, CSCS

Jennifer is a Camarillo native who after graduating from Adolfo Camarillo High School (’95) received her BS in Kinesiology from CSU Fresno. As a Kinesiology major and member of the women’s tennis team, her interest in sport, fitness, and injury led her to pursue her Masters in Physical Therapy from CSU Northridge (’04). Upon graduating from CSU Fresno she began working as an aide for George to gain experience in the field, and to help her decide between following in her mother’s footsteps as a teacher, or pursuing a career in physical therapy. Her time as an aide helped solidify her decision to attend PT school, as well as established a relationship with George as a mentor / friend / employer  that she is thankful for everyday. Jennifer joined the George Erb Physical Therapy family as a physical therapist in 2005, and has continued to perfect her skills through her own experience, that of her colleagues, and numerous continuing education courses. One of the strengths of George’s clinic in her opinion is the environment George has created whereby it is easy to discuss treatment approaches with her colleagues, effectively creating a wealth of knowledge spanning some 70 years of patient care. Jennifer has continued her formal education by taking courses in Maitland based manual therapy, Kinesiotaping, and Evidence Supported Treatment of Musculoskeletal Dysfunction. Most recently she has found herself taking courses focused on integrating Pilates into her treatment through stabilization of the pelvis, spine, and upper quarter, as well as Pilates for the prenatal / postpartum client. In addition to her PT license, she has carried the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential for 7 years now, and is most interested in continuing her education in this area as it applies to childhood fitness. In her free time, Jennifer can be found on the treadmill, in Coffee Bean, or at Target / mall, in that order. She loves her work, and the aforementioned activities, but mostly she cherishes time spent with her husband Jeff, and daughter Heidi.
